The Story
A sunset,
with a joke in it
The brief was a contradiction on purpose: make something as warm as the Terra Series demands, but let it smile. The ombré came first — burnt orange poured from the free edge and pulled back with a dry brush until it disappears into nude — and the hearts arrived by accident, when an artisan finished a test tip with one and nobody wanted to remove it.
The check is where the discipline hides. Ruled in soft white over a cured base, each line must be laid in a single pass and spaced by eye rather than measured, so the weave breathes like fabric instead of reading as graph paper. The single blue tip was argued about for a week; it stayed because a sunset needs sky to be a sunset.
A sunset without sky is only a lamp.
