Petite Boulangerie is ten tips of a bakery at opening: baguettes scored and browned in miniature, a croissant with the layers actually laminated into it, a sugared ring, and — lettered by hand on the cream tip — the only word the shop needs. The palette is taken from the shopfront itself: burnt crust, sun-bleached olive, shutter burgundy and unbleached paper.

Each set of ten is composed as a single gesture across the hand:

  • Modelled Breads — four tips · Baguette, croissant and ring, shaped in clay and browned in three passes
  • The Lettered Tip — two tips · One word, written freehand in a liner that holds four seconds of colour
  • The Awning Palette — four tips · Olive, burgundy and unbleached cream, blocked flat and glazed

Sculpted from premium soft-gel resin — light on the nail, resilient at the edge — and finished with a triple-milled, high-gloss gel top coat cured in three passes for a lacquered, glass-like depth. Pigments and coatings are cruelty-free; metallic accents, leaf and ornament are applied entirely by hand and sealed beneath the final coat.

  • 10 hand-crafted tips, arranged by finger in a crystal presentation case
  • 10 sheets of jelly gel adhesive tabs
  • Manicure stick & nail file
  • 2 alcohol wipe pads
  • Instruction guide

The Story

Everything
baked twice

The breads are made the way bread is made. A baguette is rolled, scored with four diagonal cuts and then browned in three passes — a wash for the crumb, a wash for the crust, and a dry pigment rubbed into the scores so the cuts stay darker than the shoulders. The croissant is laminated: three sheets of clay folded and cut, so the layers you can see are layers rather than lines drawn on. It takes considerably longer than drawing them onto the surface would, and the dimension rewards close inspection.

The colours came out of a photograph of a shopfront rather than off a chart — the burnt sienna of an over-baked edge, the olive of a canvas awning after a decade of sun, the burgundy of a shutter, and the unbleached cream of the paper the loaf is handed to you in. Two tips are left almost bare so the hand can breathe, and one of those carries the word, lettered freehand in a liner brush that holds about four seconds of colour. It is written once.

Written once, in four seconds of colour.

With the brush-on adhesive and careful preparation, each application can last up to fourteen days. With fresh jelly gel tabs, each application typically lasts three to five days. After gentle removal, clean away any adhesive residue and return Petite Boulangerie to its coffret — the set is designed to be worn again and again. The protective gel top coat helps preserve the hand-crafted finish between wears.

Each Petite Boulangerie is made once, in a single size — there is no size to choose. Measure the widest point of your thumbnail in millimetres, then write to Client Care with that figure and we will confirm whether this set will sit flush before you order. Because exchanges require items to remain unused and in their original condition, please confirm before opening the set.

Yes. The soft-gel resin used for Petite Boulangerie files beautifully. Shape the free edge with the nail file in one direction only, before application. We suggest leaving the cuticle edge untouched, as it is contoured to sit flush against the skin.

When applied and removed as directed, the tabs and glue used with Petite Boulangerie should not damage your natural nails. Soak, ease from the side and never pry; careful application and gentle removal help protect the natural nail surface, wear after wear.

Because it should. Every Petite Boulangerie set is crafted by hand by a single artisan — the drift of the pigment, the depth of the glaze and the placement of each crafted detail are unique to your coffret. The photographs show one interpretation; yours is another. This is the nature, and the point, of the work.
