The Story
The line
everyone knows
Everyone recognises a french manicure, which is precisely why it is the hardest thing to sell: there is nothing to hide behind. The smile line must follow the nail’s own curve, vary in width by intention rather than accident, and end at both walls at exactly the same height. Stencils achieve this and leave a coldness the eye reads without naming.
So ours is ruled freehand, in one pass, with a gold glitter suspended fine enough that the line reads as light rather than as sparkle. Beneath it the base is a two-pour sheer nude, warmed to flatter rather than to disappear; above it, a pearl or a crystal is bedded on two tips only. Everything else is left alone. That is the design.
The oldest line in the world, drawn by a hand that is awake.
