The Story
Drapery,
cast in light
The brief the artisans gave themselves was a single image: the green silk of a couture gown, photographed mid-turn, folds caught sharp by a flash. Emerald Chrome rebuilds those folds at nail scale — thickened gel pushed into ridges and valleys with a silicone blade, then floated with chrome powder so every fold carries a highlight and a shadow of its own.
Chrome is unforgiving; it magnifies every hesitation beneath it. So the drapery must be sculpted blind, judged only by feel, and revealed at the final buffing — the moment the atelier calls the unveiling, when the folds either roll light like fabric or go back to the beginning. Roughly one sculpt in three survives. The ones that do are inspected with particular satisfaction.
Silk for the hand that has no patience for silk.
