The Story
One line,
drawn in one breath
The French is the hardest thing the atelier makes, precisely because there is nothing to hide behind. A smile line is one stroke: the brush is loaded once, set down at the sidewall, drawn across the free edge and lifted at the opposite wall without stopping. Pause in the middle and the line keeps a record of the hesitation forever — so a tip that hesitates is not corrected, it is set aside.
Underneath, the bed is built sheer rather than opaque: nine translucent passes in place of a single covering coat, so your own warmth still reads through the glass and the manicure never announces where the nail ends and the work begins. The white is mixed a shade softer than paper, because true white photographs beautifully and wears coldly. This is a French that agrees with a hand instead of covering it — which is why it outsells everything else in the house, in all four shapes.
Nothing to hide behind — that is the entire design.
